VPNs and Cheap Flights: Scam or Steal?
Okay, so you've probably heard the buzz about using VPNs to snag cheaper airfare. Sounds like a dream, right? ✈️ But is it actually legit, or are we falling for another internet scam?
I've been digging into this, and it's a bit of a mixed bag.
Here's the theory: airlines often adjust prices based on your location. So, with a VPN, you can virtually hop around the globe and potentially find lower fares from different countries.
Sounds awesome in theory, but the reality is... messy.
Some people swear by it, claiming they've saved hundreds on flights. Others say it's a waste of time, that the savings are minimal or non-existent. Then there's the whole issue of airlines catching on and potentially canceling your booking if they suspect you're using a VPN. 😬
So, is it worth the risk? Honestly, I'm still on the fence.
On the one hand, I love the idea of outsmarting the airlines and scoring a deal. But on the other hand, I don't want to get stuck with a canceled flight or waste hours jumping through VPN hoops for a measly $20 discount.
We work with a number of these same VPN companies who advertise that their service is vital to benefiting from these type of savings. And believe me, I have seen it work before my eyes - but, still I ask, is it really worth it?
You decide. Happy travels!
